Heil wire is a specially-designed cable ideal for connecting microphones, foot switches, keyer paddles, and other data or control devices. Heil wire features two 18-gauge wires inside a 100% coverage silver-plated braid shield, plus two 18-gauge wires external to the braid, for PTT or other control purposes. This design reduces capacitive coupling between the control lines and the sensitive AC audio signals residing inside the shield, resulting in significant reduction of the possibility of hum pickup or RFI issues.
Outside diameter of our Heilwire is 6.8mm (+/- 0.25mm) or 0.267”.

Heil Wire is excellent quality cable! It has 2 conductors that are shielded with a very tight braid for the audio path plus it has another 2 conductors for PTT that are seperate from the shielded pair. This is a excellent choice of cable for replacing that old hard cable on your old microphone. de kd0ezs
