The Heil iCM is a high-performance microphone that was designed specifically for use with Icom radios in close collaboration with Icom’s engineering team. The iCM features a high-quality condenser element that exhibits a broad frequency response (35 Hz to 12 kHz) and high output that perfectly matches the internal gain of Icom radios.

Ideal for hand-held use, the iCM features a push-to-talk switch mounted on the body. The iCM is hardwired to an 8-foot length of Heilwire cable that terminates in an 8-pin Foster connector wired for the Icom transceivers. A ¼” inline phone jack accepts PTT input from a Heil FS-2 or FS-3 foot switch or Heil HS-2 hand switch.

The iCM is available in matte black/gold grill or silver finishes, and includes a foam windscreen and a microphone clip compatible with Heil Sound base stands and booms.

Note: The iCM is designed for Icom transceivers only.

Please see our Product Compatibility Guide to determine whether the iCM is compatible with your Icom radio. No CC-1 cable required.

I bought my “Inter-Continental Mic” about a month before I bought a gently used PR-781 for my 775DSP. Received good audio reports from DX stations using it; no augmented audio equalizer. However, a slight edge went to the 781. I use the 781 a bit more now, but I don’t think I’ll ever sell the iCM! A special thanks to the men and women at Heil Sound! Bob, RIP and God Bless.

The Hiel SM-1 shock mount works like a champ with the Heil iCM Icom desktop mic. No issues with interfering with the PTT button. Allows you to mount the iCM mic below the boom stand arm which raises the boom stand arm higher above the desk table top, eliminating issues with the boom stand arm interfering with a computer key board / iPad or a paper log book.

Great Audio with the ICM and Icom 7610

Always getting audio compliments. I don’t have any complaints about my iCM. It’s a looker, on my Heil boom, for sure.

Been using the Heil iCM since 2012 with my IC-761 and IC-706MKIIG. Just a simple set up, HF – IC-761, AL-811H (normally 300 – 500w) and a G5RV Inverted V at 60ft. VHF/UHF SSB – IC-706MKIIG barefoot with the KU4AB SQ-50, SQ-144-Stack and SQ-432-Stack square loops. With the IC-761, I always get wonderful comments on my audio quality. There always surprised when I tell them using the Heil iCM mic and no audio processing gear. The Heil iCM Icom desktop mic is the only mic for Icom!

Works like a champ with both my iCom 7300 and my iCom iC-718. I get compliments on my sound quality when participating in local networks.

I bought the ICM to pair up with my IC-9700 and I am very happy with it. I just got a new IC-7610 to put next to the IC-9700 and I will pick up another ICM to use with the 7610. My only decision will be how to mount it. I will either get an adapter that will allow me to mount both on my existing Heil boom or to get a separate boom for the new mic. Decisions, decisions, decisions.

I got this mic based on reviews and recommendations from others. I have tried the recommended settings on the site but COMPRESSION is not needed for my voice. I have set my radio to 40% mic gain, no Compression SSB TX +2 Treble and +2 Bass Wide bandwidth and everyone says my voice sounds natural and loud. I recommend this if you want your 7300 to have the best audio performance. The cost is worth it. I do not have a boom for it so I hold it like a news reporter and it works great. I will get a boom soon.

    Pros:
    Great sounding audio
    Punchy
    Great response
    Wide range for natural voice.

    Cons:
Windscreen is hard to put on the grill and does not seem to fit all the way.

Iv been using the Heil Icom iCM silver desktop mic with my Icom IC-761 and Icom IC-706MKIIG since 2007. My IC-761 is a stock radio with no after market audio gear. The iCM doesn’t require very much mic or compression gain on either radio. The iCM provides a much fatter and fuller audio sound compared to the IC-761stock HM-36 hand mic or the IC-706MKIIG stock HM-103 mic. Iv been asked many times when operating on 80 meters with my IC-761 if I’m using audio gear. Usually I get a surprised response when I tell them no audio gear, just the Heil Icom iCM desktop mic. For anyone running older Icom radios, even the Icom IC-706MKIIG, the Heil Icom iCM desk top mic is a must! You can’t beat it’s performance for the price. FM broadcast quality audio for a price that won’t brake the bank!
