The Pro Micro is a lightweight single-side or dual-side headset designed for Amateur Radio use. To accommodate different radio setups, the Pro Micro is available with either a Dynamic element or an iC electret element, and in either dual-sided or single-sided configurations.

The speakers used in the Pro Micro are very sensitive and don’t require much AF gain from the transceiver. The frequency response is 20 Hz – 17 kHz with very low distortion. The ear pads are replaceable acoustic foam.

The microphone audio for the Pro Micro series terminates into a 1/8” male plug while the headphone terminates into a 1/8” stereo with an adaptor.

Please see our Adapter Selector to find the right adapter cable to connect the Pro Micro to your radio.

To adjust the headset, simply bend the stainless steel support that is inside the black padded headband.

All Heil Pro Micro headsets are shipped with a foam windscreen that fits over the microphone. The windscreen does not change the frequency response, and reduces the breath blasts directly into the microphone.

Some state laws prohibit the use of headsets while operating a vehicle. Please check with your local regulations and restrictions prior to usage of this product while operating a vehicle.

The Pro Micro 6 is outfitted with the HC-6 dynamic microphone element. Designed for Amateur Radio applications, the -3dB points are fixed at 100 Hz and 12 kHz with a sensitivity of -57 dB at 600 ohms output impedance (centered at 1 kHz.) Note: To use dynamic mic elements on vintage radios (requiring a high impedance input of 10k to 30k ohms) will require the use of an XT-1 impedance matching transformer.
The Pro Micro iC contains the Heil iC electret microphone element designed for use with ICOM radios. This element utilizes bias power in ICOM radios which addresses low-gain issues that arise when using dynamic microphone elements. The -3dB points are fixed at 80 Hz and 12.5 kHz. The iC element requires +5 volts DC bias power, which all iCOM rigs provide.
