The Heil HM-10 XD microphone is a redesign of the popular HM-10 microphone. The new HM-10 XD uses Heil’s new HC-5x and HC-4x elements mounted on an acoustically tuned chamber to reproduce the popular full-response HC-5 and narrow-response HC-4 elements. This dual-element design provides operators with a flexible set of use options from rag chewing to DX and contesting operations.
The new HC-5X (wide) element is ideal for full-range audio applications and everyday rag chewing with the excellent speech articulation and audio quality that Heil is known for. The HC-5X element features a +6 dB rise at 2,500 Hz, the frequency right in the middle of the human voice pattern, which brings great articulation to your signal. The low-end response rolls off at 300 Hz. The -3 dB point of the HC-5X is set at 300 Hz to 8 kHz with the tuned peak being +6 dB at 2,500 Hz.
The new HC-4X (narrow) element has been designed for serious DXers and contesters who need their signal to clearly cut through pileups and noise. The HC-4X places a strong +10 dB rise at 2,500 Hz, which is right in the middle of the human speech range, for extra power and articulation. The low-end response rolls off at 600 Hz. The -3 dB point of the HC-4X is set at 600 Hz to 6 kHz with the tuned peak being +10 dB at 2,500 Hz.
The HM-10 XD microphone comes equipped with a microphone clip and a foam windscreen.
