The Heil AD-1-IHT adapter cable allows you to use your favorite Heil IC headset with the Icom 705 transceiver.
The AD-1-IHT features a 1/8” microphone jack, an inline push-to-talk switch, and terminates in a 2.5mm plug for the microphone input on the Icom IC 705. (The headphone speaker output of your headset plugs directly into the radio).
The AD-1-IHT is designed to work with Heil IC headsets only, except Handi Talkie. The AD-1-IHT is not compatible with dynamic headsets.
The AD-1-IHT is 11” in length.
The 705 does have 3 V bias power turned ON all the time, even if 8v is turned off. This has resulted in a false keying issue. Go into your menu settings and then under connectors, make sure bias power 8V is turned ON.

John VE3IPS –
I can now use my Heil ProSet 7 IC investment with another radio. I do find the PTT to be a bit short so I bought another adapter and modified it with a long PTT cable. I do a lot of POTA with my Icom 705 so being able to use a TOP Quality headset a priority. The phase reversal feature has helped pull out so weak stations with better readability. I have Heil stuff from 20 years ago that is still working as designed.
